On SciFi I couldn't agree more - I figure I'll get around to it when real life stops being bizarre in it's own right.
The only SciFi I’ve ever enjoyed is E.M. Forster’s short story, The Machine Stops written in 1909 that more or less predicted us all living in our bubbles behind screens.
So less SciFi and more a history book from the future :). Same for me with 1984 for the same reason.
